What
is MECP ?
MECP
stands for the Mobile electronics Certified Professional
Program, a nationally recognized certification for mobile
electronic installers.

Why
should you become certified?
- MECP
certification is an important part of an installer's career.
- Taking
and passing the certification exam gives the installer the
opportunity to demonstrate skills and technical knowledge
at all levels.
- It
gives the customer confidence that the installation is being
done by a professional installer.
- It
gives manufactures and retailers assureance that the product
will be installed properly.
How
long is the test?
- It
takes most of the installers about 1 1/2 hours to complete
the installer Test and 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete the
advanced tests. The Installer Level certification is good
for two years.
How

Where
will I take the test?
- You
will take the test at your local library in your homwtown.
- Or
if MECP testing is administered in your state, you can take
it there
How
will it show I passed?
- You
will receive two certificates to display at your work place
upon exam completion.
- MECP
jacket patches banners and sign are availabale upon order.
- You
also can get a MECP Photo ID Card free.
What
if I don't pass?
- The
first time pass rate on the Installer level is relatively
high. To pass a score
of 70 percent or better on all sections is required.
- You
can retake the test as many times as you need to pass.
- The
scores are always kept private.
Enroll
into the Schedule "C" Program (it teches you every
thing you need to know to become certified), or Schedule "M"n
(if you have years of hands on experience), this will prepare
you to become a Certified Installer.
